It's a challenge for the Australian squad to break new ground.

The top summits have been successfully scaled.

This is the unit that has secured seven Cricket World Cups, along with six more T20 titles, and earlier maintained 1,294 days without defeat in 50-over cricket.

The secondary achievements, those for the record chasers, are the only things left for a side that has achieved everything.

That it took as late as Sunday's three-wicket win over India for them to achieve their initial ODI chase over 300, reclaiming their record for the highest in women's cricket's 50-over format, is, frankly, a compliment to the pitchers that have worn canary yellow over five decades.

It is hard for their batters to hold a record if not afforded the opportunity.

Finally, the consequence of Australia giving up 330 runs was skipper Alyssa Healy getting a chance to deliver her newest gem.

Initially recognized as the 19-year-old niece of celebrated previous Aussie wicketkeeper Ian, she made her debut in 2010 after her country didn't secure either of the 20 or 50-over World Cups from the prior year and has witnessed all through 15 successful years since.

A T20 championship victory happened three months after her debut and seven global championships have followed from 10 tries across formats.

The gritty keeper was also there in Derby in 2017 when a semi-final setback by India briefly halted the winning streak.

That loss "drove us to reevaluate our levels," Healy said this week.

At the following one-day championship in New Zealand, Healy hit 170 against England in the final and was named player of the tournament. She made sure her country would not come up short.

Whether this recent magnificent innings surpassed that earlier display remains open for discussion.

Certain people claim the argument supporting championship match pressure. Different voices suggest with the test that comes when facing a record target and a raucous India-supporting crowd of 20,000.

What is certain is this century was considerably tougher to see coming.

The New Zealand onslaught in 2022 occurred when she was the highest scorer, but this innings was preceded by six games in India over the past few weeks in which she had been unable to reach 30.

"If you've observed me in practice sessions, it has been a disappointing period because it appeared my form was missing completely," commented Healy.

She was troubled by India's emerging talent Kranti Gaud in last month's ODI series, dismissed by the 22-year-old seamer in every game, but here that only provided Healy's spark.

A single came off the opening delivery and after that Healy was in motion.

"An opportunity to play and face the challenge with her and simply enjoy myself in that regard, sort of got me going," commented Healy.

She reached fifty in 35 pitches - her quickest at a World Cup - and her ton in 84 deliveries while she attacked short-pitched balls, hitting 21 fours and three big hits.

By the time she was out Australia needed 66 additional runs at one run per ball - an unconquered height now demanding an easy conclusion.

"Chasing 330 runs is uncharted waters so I'm pleased we have the confidence to do that now," stated Healy further.

"Hopefully we don't have to repeat it but, should it happen, we know we can achieve it."

These statements will be the last Australia's opponents at this tournament want to hear.

Over the past five days a belief they will triumph from any situation has grown stronger - this victory succeeding victory over Pakistan by 107-run victory despite sitting at 76-7 at one stage.

Next Australia play Bangladesh before a meeting with old rivals England in Indore in a week and a half, by which point a semi-final berth may likely be confirmed.

During that phase they exited the previous year's T20 World Cup in a shock defeat by South Africa - an encounter Healy was absent due to ruptured tissue in her foot as she captained her nation for the first time at a major tournament.

So great is her will, she subsequently stated she wanted to have participated through the pain.

But while she subsequently acknowledged those physical issues have postponed thoughts of retirement, this championship is anticipated as her last as captain in one-day cricket and she is yet to win a world championship as skipper.

Success in India would lead her to the peak of her last major obstacle.
